Stop Waiting for Things to Settle Down
You keep telling yourself, “Once things settle down.” I'll get coaching. I'll hire a therapist. I'll quit drinking. I'll quit gambling. I'll start exercising. I'll start working on my marriage. I'll work less and spend more time with my family.
When was the last time things actually settled down?
When it comes to making changes in your life, you can put it off as long as you want, but it's still going to be waiting there when you're done avoiding it. The sooner you stop treating change as an interruption to the “real work,” the sooner you become the person you were meant to be. The person you've always wanted to be.
So I’ll ask you directly: are you the person who's seeking change or waiting for things to change to see what happens next? That's the difference between being proactive and being in control of your life versus being reactive and trying to recover from the results.
There’s a difference. Waiting it out looks like holding your breath, delaying hard conversations, and hoping the storm passes.
Taking action means seeking to understand and heal from your past and making a plan to conquer your demons. You’re giving yourself hope to hold onto even when you don’t have certainty.
Which one have you been doing?
Get ready to be ready! 💪🏼
